   12th Oct 2026

Ahold Delhaize took systems offline after a security issue on its network surfaced on Monday, October 12, disrupting Albert Heijn distribution centres and online ordering in the Netherlands and Belgium. The company said on October 13 it had no indication client data was stolen, and said on October 14 that distribution centres were restarting. Filed under Cybersecurity, not Breaches, because no data theft is indicated.

Update, October 19: Ahold Delhaize confirmed in a newsroom statement that its investigation found the suspicious activity resulted from the malicious actions of others, said it had notified the Dutch National Cyber Security Centre within 24 hours of discovery, and said it filed a formal police report with Dutch police on October 19. Albert Heijn's website and app are back online, with home deliveries expected to resume from Friday, October 23. The Etos and Gall & Gall websites are back, e-commerce in Belgium is fully operational, most websites and apps in the Central and Southeastern Europe region are available, and e-commerce at the Ahold Delhaize USA brands is expected back in the coming days. The outage has run at least 11 days for Albert Heijn online deliveries. All stores remained open throughout, and the company said it still has no evidence that sensitive customer, associate or partner data was taken.
