Anthropic has signed a lease of at least 20 years for the first phase of EverWind Fuels' Point Tupper campus in Nova Scotia, its first data centre agreement in Canada, announced on October 16, 2026. The first phase is planned at 95 MW and is targeted to come online by late 2027, to run Claude models for customers in Canada and worldwide. The full campus is planned at 420 MW by 2028, in a project priced above C$10 billion, about C$8 billion for the campus and C$2 billion for onshore wind farms, with about 2,000 construction jobs and 215 permanent roles expected.

Anthropic's lease covers only the first phase. The 325 MW expansion has no named tenant and still needs financing and grid approval, and the wind farms will not be ready when the first phase opens. EverWind says it will pay for grid upgrades the project needs, and both companies have pledged to protect local ratepayers and water resources.
