CoreWeave's unsecured bonds fell into distressed territory in mid October 2026, with its 2031 and 2032 notes trading at 76.5 to 81 cents on the dollar at yields of 15 to 16 percent, and the cost of insuring its debt against default rising to about 1,000 to 1,200 basis points, implying roughly a 60 percent five year default probability. The company carries about $50 billion of debt against a contracted backlog above $100 billion, and its shares fell more than 15 percent in the week.

Coverage attributes the selloff to hyperscaler reports hinting at data center delays and slower capital spending growth, with investors targeting debt funded neocloud firms as the weakest links in the AI buildout. CoreWeave chief Mike Intrator told employees in a memo seen by Reuters that markets can sometimes misunderstand and act irrationally, and pointed to a demand pipeline that covers its debt obligations.
