# [Cysic halts cross-chain bridge after unauthorized mint of 10 million CYS](https://securteksecurity.com/news/cysic-bridge-unauthorized-mint-10-million-cys)

The Cysic Foundation disclosed on October 18, 2026 that an attacker used unauthorized access to a database supporting its cross-chain bridge, together with a processing logic flaw, to mint 10 million CYS on BNB Smart Chain at 12:31:38 UTC on October 17. The mint is about 1 percent of the token's maximum supply, against about 160.8 million CYS in circulation. Cysic suspended the bridge, and said the incident was limited to bridge message processing and minting.

Cysic added the recipient address to the token contract blacklist at 13:47:52 UTC on October 17, when about 2.8 million CYS remained there with transfers restricted, meaning about 7.2 million had already moved. The foundation said no existing CYS or other assets held in user wallets were stolen and its mainnet was unaffected. It said the mint size alone does not establish the final dollar loss, that token transfers, swaps and actual losses remain under review, and that it has engaged a security firm and will publish a follow up report, with the bridge restored only after a security review.
