# [Major websites are closing their doors to AI agents](https://securteksecurity.com/news/major-websites-block-ai-agents-verge-reports)

   17th Oct 2026

Users of Meta's Muse, xAI's Grok, OpenAI's Dots, and Instinct have reported blocks preventing their AI agents from completing tasks across top websites in recent weeks. Yelp told TechCrunch it allows only agents that pay for its data licensing program, Delta Air Lines is preventing agents from booking tickets, and JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab confirmed they are blocking agents from accounts over security concerns. Amazon recently blocked Muse from browsing and buying, while Meta has responded with partnerships covering Walmart, Gap, Sephora, and Best Buy, and Shopify has opened its storefront network to agents.

Coverage so far rests on a single reporting chain, The Verge's reporting and its syndications; this item will be updated as sites and agent providers confirm or change their positions independently.
