The Information reports that OpenAI is winning major enterprise coding customers from Anthropic with steep negotiated discounts. Rippling chief executive Parker Conrad said OpenAI's share of Rippling's coding workload rose from 16 percent to 52 percent while Anthropic's fell from 57 percent to 18 percent. Replit shifted most of its spending after OpenAI offered a discount of more than 30 percent on a contract worth over $100 million a year, after Anthropic declined to extend Replit's earlier discount unless it committed to higher spending; Replit later clarified that it remains model agnostic, with OpenAI now the default for Replit Agent. DataCamp was offered a 40 percent discount on models used for internal development, conditional on using Codex, with its chief executive estimating costs could fall by 80 to 90 percent if the offer extended to the products it sells. A US bank with over $7 billion in assets had its ChatGPT seats doubled to 500 at no extra charge, paying under $7 per user against a usual $20 or more. An investor memo cited in the same reporting says Anthropic's growth slowed from the second quarter to the third quarter.
