A Reuters/Ipsos poll of 4,506 adults found 84 percent see AI as a threat to American workers, 62 percent say AI could get out of control, and 57 percent say the administration has not taken AI risks seriously. Support for stricter regulation is bipartisan: 80 percent of Democrats, 61 percent of Republicans. 56 percent back limits on data-center construction. Context: the White House's voluntary AI safety agreement with major labs carries no stated consequences for non-compliance.
