   16th Oct 2026

Reflection released the weights for Beam, its first open-weight model, on Hugging Face under an Apache 2.0 license on October 16, 2026, resolving earlier conflicting reports about whether the weights had shipped. Beam is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 501 billion total parameters and 23 billion active parameters per token, a context window of up to one million tokens, and releases in BF16, FP8, and NVFP4 formats, together with the tokenizer, a reference implementation, and the Mirror CLI harness it was trained with. Baseten brought the model to its platform with day 0 support.

Reflection first introduced Beam on October 5, 2026, while it was undergoing final red teaming, and says it was pretrained on 23.8 trillion tokens. Its headline benchmark scores are company reported and have not yet been independently verified; Artificial Analysis scores cited in coverage put Beam at 30 on its Intelligence Index, second among US open-weight models behind Meta's Muse Spark Open at 39.
