Sweden's Government Offices, Regeringskansliet, will block ChatGPT and Claude on staff service computers starting Monday, October 26, 2026, directing staff to Microsoft Copilot, the only approved tool. Reviews found staff feeding sensitive information into uncontracted services, and Digitalisation Director Mikael Wettercrantz warned that using AI services without an agreement can have consequences for information security. Copilot's security settings were tightened after review, with the details not disclosed.

Some staff keep access to ChatGPT and Claude through a government-built controlled platform. The Tax Agency and the National Board of Institutional Care have already imposed similar blocks, the Enforcement Authority is considering one, and a Transport Administration audit this year found staff using 10 different open AI services.
