Cloudflare network connectivity issues in North America cause latency and packet loss

Cloudflare listed a Major incident for network connectivity issues affecting services in North America on October 23, 2026. The incident began at 15:47 UTC, 11:47 AM Eastern, with degraded performance between its Ashburn and Atlanta data centers and increased latency, packet loss and intermittent errors for some customers in the Eastern US, including on Workers. At 16:07 UTC Cloudflare identified a connectivity provider outage causing congestion and degraded performance for some customers in North America across multiple services, and said it was rerouting traffic. Downstream providers reported impact in the same window, including Pipedrive for US customers and BOSSDesk for East Coast customers. This incident is also tracked on the SecurTek Outages board. No indication of a cyberattack has been reported.

Sourcing note: this report rests on a single primary reporting chain, Cloudflare's own status page, with downstream customer reports citing that same incident, and it has not been independently confirmed elsewhere. A fix was implemented and monitoring began at 16:27 UTC, but the provider failure recurred at 17:03 UTC and Cloudflare said at 17:33 UTC it was continuing traffic engineering until all packet drops are mitigated, with the incident still listed as Major. This item will be updated when resolution or independent confirmation appears.
