Coinbase says customer contact data was exposed in an incident at vendor Amplitude
Coinbase said on October 27, 2026 that a security incident at third party analytics provider Amplitude exposed contact data for a small subset of its customers, among other Amplitude customers. Coinbase said it found no evidence of unauthorized access to its own systems and that customer funds were not impacted, and that it is notifying affected customers and regulators. Coinbase has not disclosed how many customers were affected or which contact fields were involved, so this is prepared as a Cybersecurity item, not a Breaches add, following the ENGIE and Foundation precedents on this page: no confirmed record count is stated. A figure of about 70,000 users circulating on X is unconfirmed; Coinbase did not address it, and it is not used here.
