EU publishes first harmonised AI Act standard, EN 18286:2026

The European Commission has cited standard EN 18286:2026, a quality management system standard for providers of high risk AI systems, in the Official Journal through Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/2274, making it the first harmonised standard under the EU AI Act. Providers who implement it gain a presumption of conformity with the Article 17 quality management requirements of the Act.

The Commission states it is the only AI quality management standard carrying that presumption.
