Google Cloud outage in London region disrupts Revolut services worldwide
Google Cloud reported elevated errors and intermittent network failures across multiple services in its europe-west2 London region on October 20, 2026. The Register reports the downtime began at 0608 UTC in the europe-west2-b zone, one of three availability zones in the region, and that Google gave no estimated recovery time, telling customers there were no workarounds at first and later advising customers who could do so to migrate workloads to another available zone or region. Google said its engineering team was investigating. The incident is also tracked on the SecurTek Outages board, where Google listed a power event in europe-west2-b and 37 affected services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Firestore, Spanner and Pub/Sub.
Revolut said it was experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services and confirmed that all customers' money and data are safe. A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that Revolut's outage was related to the Google Cloud disruption. Revolut's status page flagged 28 services as partially unavailable, including sign-ins, card payments, transfers, currency exchange, stock trading and live support chat, and BleepingComputer described the impact on Revolut as worldwide. Users of Lloyds Bank and HSBC, and services including Royal Mail, DPD and Rightmove, also reported problems on Downdetector, and the budgeting app Emma told customers it was down because of the Google Cloud outage in London.
