The scale of a July 2026 breach at Saber Healthcare Group is now confirmed at 282,727 people. The HIPAA Journal reported on October 1, 2026 that the Beachwood, Ohio based skilled nursing, long term and senior rehabilitation care provider had started notifying individuals about unauthorized access to one of its computer servers, and its updated report on October 29, 2026 states that the US Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights has since added the breach to its breach portal, showing 282,727 individuals. A second report of the HHS listing states the filing is dated September 25, 2026, was listed on October 29, 2026, and classifies the incident as a Hacking/IT Incident involving a laptop and network server. This filed total resolves the scale that was held on this page earlier on October 29, when the figure rested on a single aggregator report of the listing.

Saber identified the incident on July 27, 2026 and took action to secure its systems. Third party cybersecurity experts assisted the investigation, which indicated that data stored on the server may have been accessed or acquired. The review of the server was completed on August 19, 2026. The information involved varies by individual and may include names with one or more of the following: date of birth, driver's license or state issued identification number, health insurance information, medical information, financial account information, passport number, and Social Security number. Saber says additional network security measures have been implemented, its data security policies and procedures are being reviewed, and no evidence has been found of misuse of the exposed data, while affected individuals were advised to remain vigilant against identity theft and fraud.
