South Korea finds hacking incidents at 16 financial firms, about 100,000 records leaked
The Financial Services Commission said on October 14 that a second emergency review raised the count of breached financial firms to 16, including Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, BNK Busan Bank, Hana Bank, DB Savings Bank, KDB Capital and crypto operators Streami (GOPAX) and Prabang. About 100,000 records (names, contact details, resident registration numbers, email addresses) are confirmed leaked so far. The FSC says no account or card numbers usable for fraudulent payments have been found, and the count could rise.
