Three South Korean financial firms reported data breaches on October 28, 2026, extending the wave that the Financial Services Commission counted at 16 firms and about 100,000 records on October 14. Daishin Securities confirmed that personal and credit information for 38,490 customers had leaked: names, email addresses, postal addresses, communications IDs, bank names, bank and securities account numbers, and mobile phone numbers, with account and phone numbers encrypted. Daishin detected unauthorized access on October 17 to a server supporting remote securities account opening, confirmed the leak on October 26, and said it had found no evidence of access to its core systems or of secondary harm so far.

Crypto exchange Bithumb said an outsider breached its internal employee mobile and groupware system and took personal information; it is investigating whether member data was included, and says the system is separate from its trading platform and customer virtual assets cannot be accessed through it. Mirae Asset Global Investments confirmed a hacking incident and said it blocked abnormal access; CoinDesk reports investor information was not affected. Only the Daishin figure of 38,490 is confirmed and counted in the records exposed total on this page; no count is published for Bithumb, and no investor count is counted for Mirae Asset Global Investments.
